Last weekend our J1 teams lead all the action at Stradbrook. On Friday, our Men's 2nds had an eventful match against Naas played on three different pitches, with two different refs, and one delay in the last 10 minutes due to an injury and ambulance call. Hope your knee feels better soon, Jake! Our Women's 2nds had a less eventful but equally successful match against Railway Union on Sunday. Well done to all involved!
We had a large crowd in-house for the Ireland v South Africa match Saturday evening. The U7s, U9s, and their parents and coaches filled the bar for the heart-stopping game. Obviously everyone in house was thrilled with the result.
Big congratulations to our first ever Girls U14s and 16s who played their first competitive fixture against Clontarf over the weekend. These teams are made up of youth players from other local clubs who have banded together in order to compete in the Leinster and metro leagues. Our consortium is made up of Suttonians, Belvo, Rock, Terenure, and Wanderers. The U14s team, the Sharks, have 5 Rock players, and the U16 Vipers have 4. What a great example of how other clubs can be rivals on the field, but off the field we all just want to play rugby. Congratulations to all the players, Killian O'Sullivan, Gavin Hegarty, and everyone else who was involved in this initiative.
This weekend, our Men's 3rd and U20 teams have matches at home, our J1s play away, and our senior teams have more time off before both play away on the 7th October. Head over to our Fixtures & Results page for the full list of fixtures.
