At Blackrock College RFC, there has been a tremendous amount of improvements to the club facilities and pitches seen over the last several years. A few of the most notable items that Stradbrook has seen include the addition of new Flood Lights, a Strength and Conditioning Gym and new Shower Blocks, as well as the new Club Office. Additionally, Stradbrook saw increased revenue through the installation of the new Vodaphone Mast.
Continuing with the additions, we are very pleased to announce that an all weather pitch is coming to Stradbrook very soon.
With a start date of mid-August, the pitch will likely be completed at the end of October /early November.
Consisting of a large artificial grass surface, approximately two thirds the size of a full pitch and divisible into smaller “5 a side” pitches, it will be totally enclosed and floodlit.
Fully funded, by dedicated club supporters and a sports capital grant, with NO additional bank debt, the all weather pitch will be designated as a new income stream to the club for 2019/20 and following years, with the opportunity for third party teams to rent it from the club.
Please note that due to the coming works, parking behind the top pitch will not be available from August 18th. Also, there will be restricted parking on the remainder grounds, so parking offsite (Rockbrook) is suggested to avoid congestion.
