Parents 1st Aid Safe Course Please note the below note that went out to our Age Group Managers during the week. We would urge as many parents as possible to take a few hours out to attend this course. It is a fantastic level of training at a very low price thanks to the assistance of the IRFU in subsidizing the fees and the club for providing the venue with no charge. This is an ideal freshener or first time round course for all of us. As parents, we never know when the information gained may come into being of use. Whilst we provide a duty of care to all our child members through employing the services of John 's Ambulance First Aid responders every Sunday, where we can't provide cover is at away matches or when training at UCD and we feel that if a number of parents from each age group attend this course it enhances our ability to repsond to help an injured child properly or interject if an injured child is being treated incorrectly. Please read through the below and reply to confirm interest in attending. Thanks, Aidan (Finn). Hi Team managers In accordance with the Club's priority on player welfare and safety, we are hosting a 1st aid SAFE course that is both organised and subsidised by the IRFU. The course runs from 9am to 4pm and will be held on Sunday 13th March in Stradbrook. The course costs €48 per head including the IRFU subsidy and also includes a light lunch and refreshments. Payment is in advance of the course commencing and the minis and youths section will further subsidize 2 free places per age group by way of refund of €96 to each group. If a particular age group wishes to have more than 2 coaches attend the course, they may opt to spread the €96 refund. Eg. if 4 coaches from the U15s wish to attend, that by spreading the cost, it works out at €24 per head. The course is also open to any parents of players or active club members over 18 who may be interested and the cost is €48 per head which represents fantastic value for money. We would strongly advise each age group to have at least 2 coaches trained to 1st aid level and this course offers a great opportunity to do so. Please respond with the following: 1. Details of those parents interested in attending the course Name: Email: Mobile Ph: Age Group: 2. Any coach that is a medically qualified practitioner or who has already completed a 1st aid course. Eg. Doctor, Nurse, Paramedic etc. This will assist us with assessing how well a particular age group is equipped in the case of a medical emergency. Blackrock reach Leinster Cup Final. Blackrock College RFC will face Railway on Sunday the 6th of March at home in Stradbrook at 3pm in the Leinster Cup final after a 48-3 win over Belvedere. Scores on the day came from Jess Belchos (try), Carrie Hanley (try), Clodagh Dunne (try), Mairead Holohan (2 tries), Aoife Tyrrell (try and 4 convs), Michelle Claffey (2 tries).
