Women’s Squad Update

It was another strong week for our Women’s program, with both sides continuing their impressive early-season form.

Our 2nd XV got things underway on Thursday night in the opening round of the Metro Cup, producing a dominant display to record a 43–5 win over Greystones. A confident and clinical performance to start their cup campaign in style.

On Saturday, our 1st XV joined the men’s team for a home double header, and the good form continued with another bonus point victory — this time a 60–14 win over Ballincollig. After breaking down a resilient Ballincollig defence, the tries came thick and fast in the second half. Maggie Boylan led the way with a hat-trick, Méabh Deely added two on her birthday, Maeve Óg O’Leary with a further two and Abby Moyles also crossed, while two penalty tries rounded out a superb attacking performance.

The squad now enjoy a well-earned off weekend before returning to action with a trip to Wicklow RFC on November 8th, while the 2nd XV await confirmation of their second-round Metro Cup fixture against Clontarf.
