We're Hiring: Assistant Coach Senior Men’s AIL 1B Team

Blackrock College RFC is seeking to appoint an Assistant Coach to join the senior men’s coaching team for the 2026/27 season.

This is a senior coaching role within an established high-performance environment, working with a talented AIL 1B playing group. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Rugby and Head Coach to help drive standards, preparation and performance across the season.

The role will involve coaching two to three evenings per week, matchday involvement on Saturdays, and a meaningful contribution to the broader performance programme. In addition to on-field coaching, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in areas such as opposition review and preview, video analysis, player assessment and recruitment.

The specific coaching portfolio will be shaped around the strengths and experience of the successful candidate and the overall needs of the programme. We are looking for a coach who can bring strong technical and tactical understanding, excellent communication skills, and the personality and presence to add value in a demanding senior rugby environment.

AIL experience would be an advantage, as would a strong playing or coaching background, but neither is essential. We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, provided they can demonstrate the quality and rugby intelligence required to make a real impact.
