U14s Claim Leinster Cup Glory with Impressive Win

Blackrock College RFC’s Under-14 side delivered a commanding performance on Sunday to secure the Leinster Cup title, defeating Newbridge RFC 31–5 at Energia Park.

From the opening whistle, Blackrock showed intent, combining strong forward play with sharp, confident attacking moves in the backline. The forwards laid a solid platform throughout, dominating at the breakdown and maintaining steady possession, while the backs capitalised with pace and precision, stretching the Newbridge defence and converting opportunities into points.

Newbridge fought hard and managed to cross the line for a deserved try, but Blackrock’s defensive organisation and work rate ensured they remained firmly in control. Discipline and teamwork were key, as Blackrock consistently shut down sustained attacks by Newbridge.

As the game progressed, Blackrock continued to build momentum, adding further tries to put the result beyond doubt. The final whistle confirmed a 31–5 victory, sparking celebrations among players, coaches, and supporters.

This Leinster Cup win marks a significant achievement for the group and highlights a bright future for Blackrock College RFC at underage level.

The next match for the Under 14s is the Metro Cup Semi Final at 7pm on Thursday night against the Donnybrook Rangers (Old Belvedre/Bective amalgamation).
