The U13s had a very good weekend of rugby in their first round of the league. It was a great showing by both teams. The B team didn’t get the result against the Southside Lions (Wesley/Stillorgan/Rathfarnham), but fought back from behind to nearly take the game back. Great heart and fighting spirit was shown. A special shout out to our new player Mani Cowman, who we had expected would play about 10 minutes but due to injuries etc played the full match on his debut - baptism of fire!
For the A team it was a hard fought 19-10 win against our local rivals St Brigids in St Michael’s. It was a serious 21 man full panel effort with every player contributing and giving their all. Brigids were fired up, and clearly looking for payback after their earlier loss to us during the grading matches. A disciplined structured approach and low penalty count with minimal unforced errors saw the team through.
This week we have two home games - the B team play Clontarf B and the A team play Belvo A. Both matches kicking off at 12.30 on the lower pitch.
