A timely reminder to those on self-assessment and completing their income tax returns: Individuals and companies can obtain tax relief for donating money to Blackrock College RFC in 2023 OR 2024 because we are a designated sporting body, approved by Revenue.

Full details of the scheme are on Revenue.ie.

How the relief will be given depends on whether you are a paye only taxpayer or self-assessed. Companies just claim the donation as deduction in their accounts. Generally, it works better for a company or a self-assessed individual or couple. As an example, a self assessed individual donating €2,000 euro to the club to help with Capital improvements would reduce his or her income tax bill by €800.

Anyone interested in pursuing this relief should contact their advisor to take advantage of the relief.

If you are interested in making a donation to the club, please contact Pat Finn on 0872565935.
