Doddie Weir Cycling Fundraiser

Updated: 6 hours ago

Friday was a very special night for Blackrock College RFC as we hosted the finishing party for the Doddie Weir Foundation cyclists.

These incredible riders travelled all the way from Scotland to Ireland, carrying the match ball for the Ireland v Scotland game at the Aviva Stadium. The team was led by rugby legends Rob Wainwright and Gordon D’Arcy, alongside cycling legend Mark Beaumont and Doddie's wonderful wife, Kathy.

Over the course of the journey, they covered more than 750 miles and have raised an astonishing £1,350,000 for Motor Neurone Disease. For more information on Doddie's Triple Crown or to donate to the foundation: Click Here

A huge well done to everyone involved. A special thank you to our amazing team at the club who looked after the 600+ guests who joined us on the night, and a special thanks to Mark Scott Lennon and the fantastic team at Fitzpatrick Castle in Killiney for their support over the course of the two days.
