Blackrock College RFC welcomed new player, Lucas Heinrich, to the club at the start of the 2019 season. Lucas has proved a valuable additon to the Rock team, starting most matches at centre.

In November, Lucas travelled to Lithuania and Switzerland to compete in the 2019/2020 Rugby Europe International Championship (REIC) for the Swiss Men's XV.

Lucas has been playing for the Swiss national team since 2014, and two weeks ago marked his 24th international selection with Switzerland. Switzerland compete in the 6 Nations Pool C, along with Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, and Lithuania. During November's two matches, Switzerland played against Lithuania in Siauliai, Lithuania (16th of November) with Switzerland winning 9 - 40 (Lucas scored 1 try). The following week Switzerland played against Poland in Yverdon, Switzerland (23rd of November) resulting in a 20 - 23 loss.

Upcoming matches include: - Switzerland v Netherlands (14th of March in Switzerland) - Ukraine v Switzerland (2nd of May in Ukraine) Currently, Switzerland are 2nd in their table, and they hope to finish in the first two, to be promoted in the 6 Nations B Pool (with Georgia, Romania, Russia, Belgium, Portugal, Spain).
