Blackrock College RFC Seeking AIL Women’s Coach

Following the appointment of Philip Doyle to the Head Coach role with the Scottish Women’s team, Blackrock College RFC is seeking to appoint a Head Coach for its Women’s AIL 1st XV.


Over the last number of years Blackrock College RFC has developed some of the best facilities and support structures in Irish club rugby and this is an exciting opportunity to stamp your mark on a club with a proud rugby history.


Purpose


Reporting to the Director of Rugby, the successful applicant will lead the Women’s Rugby agenda within the Club. Working in conjunction with the Rugby Committee and team management create processes, training plans and an environment that will continue to develop players to meet their potential as rugby players and people.


Key Responsibilities

  • To lead the coaching programme for the Women’s Rugby.

  • Plan the coaching programme for the season.

  • Own the recruitment process to identify and evaluate potential new players.

  • Develop game and training strategies aligned to the ability of the playing squad.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions for the Women’s squad ensuring that all sessions are designed to develop the skills and understanding of the players.

  • Lead match day processes and implement in conjunction with team management.

  • Evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team and players making use of critical and constructive video analysis.

  • Provide feedback to coaches, players and appropriate club committees.

  • Lead the team culture, working with other team management to ensure the team is organised, disciplined and has a positive team spirit ensuring the team had pride in themselves, their Club and their sponsors.

  • Attend IRFU-stipulated workshops aimed at enhancing coaching in the Women’s AIL.

  • Drive the minimum operating standards as set out by the IRFU to be a sustainable team.

  • Assist in the development of a 2nd XV side and the sevens programme.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Be working towards or have obtained IRFU Stage 4 qualification

  • Irish rugby coaching experience
