Blackrock College RFC announces this Saturday the 23rd of September at 12:30pm, the official opening of the new Physiotherapy Centre at Stradbrook. Dedicated to the late Barry O’Keeffe, RIP, who was renowned for his concern of all players’ welfare at Blackrock College and Rugby Club, the centre includes new upgraded shower blocks and a state-of-the-art physio centre. Barry’s wife, Madeleine, along with several other family members and friends, will be present at the ceremony where a commemorative plaque will be unveiled, permanently recognizing the late player in Stradbrook.
Barry was a former teacher and Dean of Blackrock College. He taught many club members and was always a highly regarded and respected presence in Stradbrook, serving as a coach, selector, Honorary Secretary, President and a friend to so many. Additional hobbies included Kilkenny hurling, basketball, and golf.
