Blackrock College RFC offers a safe, non competitive, enjoyable environment for boys and girls to learn rugby in through activities which ensure progressive skill development. The club's name comes from its historic foundation with Blackrock College but our Mini & Youth Rugby players come from 55 different schools from all over Dublin and Leinster. We are one of the biggest Mini and Youth clubs in Ireland with 524 players from 390 separate families, 130 coaches, 6 former international players and 15 provincial players.
We are asking the parents of all new and returning players to register for the coming season now. Registering ensures you will receive all communication in relation to your group as soon as the season begins in September. It will also avoid any possibility of being unable to register later in the season if groups become full - which has happened in the past.
We are particularly looking forward to welcoming new players born in 2011 and (2012) to our under 6 group. Mini rugby is a non-tackling version of the sport for u6 and u7 and the emphasis is on ABC’s (agility, balance, control), hand to eye co-ordination, catching and passing, pitch awareness (the boundaries), teamwork, and fun!
