Match Report: Women v Belvo

Due to a clash of fixtures, Rock vs Belvo was relocated and played on the grounds of Blackrock College - the first time a womens' game has been played on the grounds of the school.
A perfect evening for rugby. A balmy evening- a vast change from the chilly climate of Limerick a mere few weeks ago.
Rock started on the back foot. Strong carries from Belvo gave them momentum and eventually earned them a try.
Followed by a penalty. 8-0
Rock settled into the game and pushed forward into the opposition 22 through good spells of pressure and possession. Following numerous infringements without punishment by Belvo, Rock were eventually awarded a penalty which Hannah O'Connor scuffed and hit the post- quick reactions from Ann Marie Rooney allowed Rock to pounce and go again. Knocking at the door for a good 5 minutes or so - before a penalty allowed Rock to eventually break through the white wash through Caoimhe Molloy . 7-8 the score stood at half time.
After the break Rock looked to keep the ball rolling in terms of momentum but were punished for a missed tackle and a lack of fold on D out wide. A good break to lead to a try for Belvo. 14-8.

The rest of the game was fast paced and physical.
Rock holding the ball for much of the latter stages but unable to convert chances to scores.
Overall Rock were happy on an improved performance simmering nicely ahead of next weeks Cup final vs Bohs. An exciting week of training ahead; lots of positive points among the work ons.
