It gives me great pride to write this message as Club Captain for the 2019/20 season. I would firstly like to extend a very warm welcome to Stradbrook to all visitors and members of Blackrock College RFC.

I would like to thank Job Langbroek for his time as Captain last season. In a testing season, Job’s commitment to the cause was faultless throughout and we all wish him the best in his recovery from injury. I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mick Carroll and his coaching team for their time with us over the past two seasons.

The squad have been diligently training over the Summer in order to put ourselves in the best possible position to gain promotion this season.

New coaches James Blaney and Denis Hurley have brought new ideas as well

as strengthening the playing squad. Hopefully, this will create a successful

2019/20 season for the team.

I would like to wish all teams within the club the very best of luck throughout

their respective seasons. I am sure that each team will represent the club with

dignity and pride on and off the field and maintain the traditions of Blackrock

College RFC.

The ongoing support of our sponsors is critical for our club in its day to day

running. For that, I would like to offer a sincere thank you to all that have

offered their support.

I would also like to sincerely thank Pappy Burke, our outgoing President,

for his efforts over the past year. Your constant positivity, support and

generosity is greatly appreciated by all involved with the Senior squad.

I would like to extend my very best wishes to our incoming President, John

Colgan, and his Committee. The playing community vows to make this year a

memorable one for you.

I congratulate Cabinteely FC on the great strides they continue to make in the League of Ireland and hope the healthy relationship continues to grow between our two clubs.

Lastly; to all coaches, managers, volunteers, supporters and committee members I wish to thank you for your time that you give to Blackrock.

I look forward to seeing you all down in Stradbrook over the upcoming season in what is hopefully a successful campaign.
