The div 2 got their season back on track with a hard fought victory over a big Greystones team in Stradbrook on Sunday. A barnstorming run from Andrew Ellison which lead to a try and 2 Ben Mahon penalties had Rock leading 11-5 before a converted try just before the half gave Stones a 12-11 ht lead. Tries in 2nd half from Davy Rowan (to make up for his yellow card) and James ‘Stumpy’ Cullen got Rock over the line with very little to spare. Rock will try keep the good start going when travelling to Barnhall on Saturday at 3pm, all support welcome!
A wet and rather wintery evening kick off in Angelsea Road for Blackrock's second game of the 2018/2019 Season. However, the rain held off relatively well in a first half which, rather predictably, saw a lot of scrums from errors with ball in hand. It was unconverted and play for the first half continued in very much the same vein with a lot of scrums and line outs as Belvo looked to kick and utilise the wind to keep Rock on the back foot. Rocks defence stood up to the task and Belvo had to wait until the 36th minute before they were rewarded wit

Wegians opened the scoring in a sunny Stradbrook with a good break away try against the run of play. 0.5 Off a strong restart Rock worked their way down the left hand side. A strong run by Hannah O Connor gained some yards and had Wegians on the back foot which allowed scrumhalf Niamh Griffin to release debutant Caoimhe Molloy to drive over and dot down despite heavy pressure from two Galway forwards- for her and Rocks first try. 5.5 A penalty added another three from the boot of O Connor. 8.5 Wegians as you would expect answered back strongly and after a Rock error they capitalised with some good interlinking play to secure their 2nd try of the game. 8.10 Rock rallied and marched into the
