Annual Race Day Highlights

As Leopardstown Racecourse concluded it's final day of their Christmas festival, the Panoramic Suite was a buzz with excitement as our 185 guests gathered to cheer on their picks for the day. Thankfully, a tipster offered advice to guide a few of us non-racers a chance to win, but a couple of upsets by clear favourites added to the drama. Congratulations to Judy Graham for winning the Billy Joel tickets and a big thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed a fantastic day out. GOAL Scores at the Stradbrook Mile

Stradbrook opened its doors for the annual St. Stephen's Day GOAL Mile event. The crisp, dry weather lended itself to a brilliant turnout, with lots of smiling faces turning out to run, jog and walk the 4 laps around the top pitch. Many thanks to all those participants who came out to support this important cause. We are thrilled to report that over €800 was raised, surpassing previous years donations. A special thank you to Conor Coughlan for his efforts in organizing this event. We already have our calendars marked and look forward to a bigger turnout next year!

Claff makes Leinster Team!

The Leinster Women’s team to face Ulster Women on Sunday at Dromore RFC (KO 2pm) in Round 1 of the 2017 Women’s Interprovincial Series has been announced. Paula Fitzpatrick, who was recently confirmed as the team captain, will start in the back row at number 8 with Sophie Spence named at blindside flanker and Railway Union’s Ciara Cooney starting on the openside. St Mary’s RFC’s Orla Fitzsimons will start in the second row alongside the uncapped Aoife McDermott. Ireland internationals Lindsay Peat and Cliodhna Moloney will start in the front row with Old Belvedere’s Fiona O’Brien named as the starting tighthead. This Christmas you can run, jog or walk a mile and raise awareness and funds to support GOAL Global’s humanitarian programmes, helping those around the world who are most vulnerable.
