BCRFC Awarded Grant

It is with great excitement we announce that Blackrock College RFC has been awarded a grant from the 2017 Sports Capital Programme run by the Department of Tourism, Transport and Sport. This €150,000 grant is to assist in the development of an all-weather pitch and floodlighting. This grant will supplement the work already being done by our organization. As an approved project, donations from individuals to further assist in the project, can attract tax relief in 2017/2018. Bob Casey Presents Matchday Jerseys

Thursday night saw former Blackrock, Leinster and Ireland player Bob Casey back at Stradbrook. He was there to make a special appearance, presenting the 1st squad their matchday jerseys ahead of Saturday's UBL game versus Galway Corinthians. In an effort to remind the players that the Rock jersey is much more than something just hanging up in a changing room, Head Coach Michael Carroll contacted Casey for the presentation. Carroll says "The Rock jersey has a huge history and a very bright future. Blackrock 24 UL Bohemians 39 UL Bohemians maintained their presence at the top of the table with a hard-earned 39-24 win over a much-improved Blackrock at Stradbrook this afternoon. St. Mary's College RFC 10 Blackrock 17 A frosty day in St Mary’s College RFC saw Blackrock u20’s run out 17-10 winners over a strong Mary’s side. Blackrock were looking for back to back wins in the league after winning impressively against Navan a fortnight ago. A slow start from Rock meant that they were jammed in their own 22 for the first 10 minutes of the game and they were punished as centre Myles Carey touched down in the corner to give Mary’s an early 5-0 lead with the conversion being missed. Tullamore 20 Blackrock 40 Spollanstown Tullamore might still be searching for their first win of the season after a 40-20 reversal at the hands of Blackrock, but the Offaly side have to be happy with some impressive attacking play in this Round 6 clash.
