Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show Success

Friday afternoon found Stradbrook a buzz with excitement as 180 ladies arrived for the Ladies Lunch, and while the event was held at the rugby club, we can guarantee there were absolutely no high tackles, only high heels, at this club fundraiser. Guests were greeted with a champagne reception, as musician Jamie Duff entertained on the guitar. With Club sponsor, Sherry FitzGerald Lettings, generously hosting the affair, the women were soon seated in the festive hall for a three-course lunch. A fashion show by Irish Wholesaler, Myles Cunningham with D.E.C.K by Decollage, was an event highlight, showcasing gorgeous clothing, perfectly appropriate for those autumn afternoons spent on the sidelin

Match Report: U20s V. Navan

U20s 33 V. 17 Navan (H) 22nd October A lovely day in Stradbrook saw Blackrock run out 33-17 winners in a fast-flowing exciting contest. Blackrock were eager to get back on the field after a frustrating loss to UCD a week ago and it showed as early pressure was applied from the get go. The conversion was missed by Peter O’Reilly and Rock led 5-0. Navan’s scrum had the upper hand in the first half and they

We kicked off last Sunday the 1st October with 8 players coaching the U-8’s & U-14’s and from here on in they will be spread mainly with U-6’s, U-7’s and U-8’s. The kids had a ball and how inspiring for them to be coached by some future stars.

U13s Host International 7s Tournament

The under 13s held a 7s rugby tournament on Sunday 1st October which saw 14 teams playing fast, running rugby. Jordi Murphy was on hand to talk to the boys and hand out trophies. We were delighted with the support and positive feedback from participating clubs. Our thanks to those who helped pull it together, including Conor Cleary, along with the referees and pitch co-ordinators. We were proud to have special guests participating in the tournament: a team of 9 boys from the Tshuma Stingers Rugby Club of Johannesburg. Most of the boys were from some of the poorest and most densely populated townships in Johannesburg, places where children struggle to escape a cycle of poverty, drugs and
