Blackrock College RFC was founded in 1882 making us one of the oldest senior rugby clubs in Ireland. While we bear the name and are closely affiliated to the world-renowned school at Williamstown, we are an open club welcoming all who share a passion for the game of rugby.
The club’s philosophy is to create an enjoyable and safe environment while striving to be as successful as possible in all areas of the game. We have both adult men’s and women’s teams, under 20’s and have a thriving mini and youth’s section all of whom are actively involved in the various competitions throughout Leinster striving to provide an environment in which aspiring rugby players can thrive.
The club's senior men's team competes Division 2B of All Ireland League and the Womens team will again compete in the newly restructured AIL in the 21/22 season.
The club has a long tradition of producing players for the International side many of whom have also represented the Lions such as Fergus Slattery, Willie Duggan, Mick Doyle, Brendan Mullen, Hugo McNeill and more recently Shane Byrne, Brian O’Driscall and Luke Fitzgerald.
Rugby is currently enjoying a huge level of interest, just drop in some Sunday morning during the season to Stradbrook Road to see how busy it is. Alternatively, keep an eye on our website to see the fixtures list and visit one of our matches.
